Eric Carle

This week we learned about what an author and illustrator does.  We read lots of Eric Carle books and really loved his illustrations.

Here we are creating some of our own masterpieces using some of the different techniques Eric Carle uses in his paintings.  We tried creating different textures with various objects like scraping some of the paint off and dragging a pencil through the paint.

We love playdough!

Working hard on our letter and number of the week!

These cuties are cutting their own masterpieces!

"F" is for frog

It's so hard to catch all our kinder-prep kiddos while they're outside playing--they move so fast!

Painting with watercolors is one of our favorite activities!

We read, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" and made our own name caterpillars

Here are the flowers from our paintings.  So pretty!

Some handprint hermit crabs from the book, "A House for Hermit Crab"

So fun to see big trucks!

Show and tell for the letter "F."  We had some fire trucks, frogs, a flamingo, flower, fish, football and flashlight.

So pretty in yellow!

We listened to the story, "The Little Cloud," by Eric Carle and made our own clouds.  We used our imaginations to tell what we saw in our clouds and had some pretty creative sights!

Teamwork!

This friend is lacing the "hungry caterpillar" through the leaf!

We love listening to books!

More fun with letters!
